truthfully, i'm really horrible at remembering the names of musical pieces, even those with lyrics. in fact, i'm horrible at remembering names of things in general. so i don't know if i've ever heard that piece or not, and even if i have (which is likely but not certain), i have no idea what it sounds like.

does that answer your question? ^_~;

I have a feeling that most people don't get past Mars. It's the first movement of the suite, it's loud and bangy, and it's satisfying. Consequentially it's really hard to sit through Venus after that, especially if you're listening while driving. It's a really beatiful piece, though, even if it's almost overly tranquil. Mercury is fun and tinkly (is there any other adjective you can use to describe the glockenspiel and celesta part in the beginning?). Jupiter has that rousing boisterous opening that we all love so well, plus the most beautiful chorale setting Holst ever produced. Saturn (my personal favorite) is a bit more nebulous (ha!) than the preceding movements, and has some really beautiful harmonies. Uranus is, well, loud and bangy like Mars. I guess magicians are warriors at heart. Neptune is kind of creepy, actually, with an offstage female chorus adding a nice, ethereal "Captian Kirk's gonna get some" effect.

 Re:
Uranus is my second fave. I think Venus is boring after the first couple of minutes. Jupiter used to be my fave, back in college. I'll admit to usually removing Venus from my playlist after the first go-round.
