The difference a day makes
About 24 hours ago, I posted about going camping this weekend. I am conscientious about field trips so after I went to dinner with my parents, I came straight home and went to bed. On purpose. So I could wake up at 4:30 this morning.

Obviously, that worked out just fine. I get up, notice that someone called and figure it was Brian. So, I go to check email to see what the responses were about camping food. There is an email from the TA of the class "NO FIELD TRIP".

So, yeah, the message was also from her, saying the field trip was cancelled. Remember last semester, when the field trip was cancelled? And this semester, when the field trips in my other class were cancelled? It's me. I told them that last semester, I told them that "If there are weird circumstances that happen only once in about every 10 years, it'll happen to me." And it did, again! Poor Mohammed, this is the second semester in a row when something heinous has gone wrong at the last minute that keeps us from going on the field trip. He probably swore in Sudanese.

So, on the one hand, cool, free weekend! On the other hand... poopie. I wanted to go, and the weather was going to be great. Ryan gave me a good idea for food, too. And now I have no excuse for not cleaning the house and doing my term papers. Dookie.

I'm all : disappointed disappointed

Anyway, thought I'd say hi.

Do you remember Bobo?

  It IS you!!
Bobo, hmm...
Is that what you and Brian Brown requested the horn section to be called? It sounds familiar, but my memory is a little fuzzy.

If I'm still not ringing a bell for you, perhaps you may remember me as 'Doo-Doo Brown'?
I was Stephanie Fischer's friend from Crowley.
Or perhaps I was a bad memory for you and you've successfully blocked all events pertaining to me from your consciousness. If that is the case, I do apologize for the painful reminder. :o)

Is that your daughter? How old is she? I have a 7 yr old myself. We made people, we rock!

Would you believe, Brian Brown is *still* my best friend? He's playing the horn professionally. Me, I'm in grad school. How 'bout you? HOW ARE YOU? :)

Ohmygod, this is so weird! I never expected to bump into someone I knew by hitting the 'random' button, but sure enough, I did. You and Brian are still best friends? I'm glad to hear that! You guys have been friends for more than ten years now, that's great! And he's still playing horn...fantastic! AND you have a kid, too? Wow!
That is my daughter, Zephyr. She just turned five. She is my most expensive souvenir from Iceland.
You have a kid! Boy or girl? I'll bet you are the rockin'est mom ever.
When's the last time you talked to Stephanie Fischer? She has twin boys now. I think they are about 3 years old...or close to it.
Anyway, I lead a boring life, I've been taking care of my grandmother for the past 4 1/2 years.
How are you doing? How do you like being a mom?

 Re: It IS you!!
I have a daughter, Holly. I'm making her cool. She said that a girl in her dance class said she was crazy, and she replied "I SHORE am!!"
Her father and I are divorced, but we're still friends. He's remarried and expecting a baby in June.

I haven't talked to Stephanie in years, but I think Brian saw her at some random location (like an Oktoberfest or something) recently. Cindy Cochran and I have been playing phone tag for about a year, but last time I spoke with her she was doing pretty good. No kids or anything, though. Brian has no kids either.

My life is pretty boring -- before I went back to school I was a programmer, and I haven't really worked much since 2001 because of the economy. So, pretty much, I play videogames and watch tv. Now it's summer, I'll probably be in the pool a lot. :)

"I SHORE am!!"
Haa!! A little Val! That's priceless. No doubt she is a cool character.
I've never been married. I heard strange things about marriage, so I opted for the simpler 'baby package'.
Her dad is pretty cool. He still lives in Iceland.
Anyway, I need to go to sleep soon, but my email address is:
heyjana@charter.net and my AOL IM screenname is 'chinesechecker', if you IM at all.
I would love to talk more sometime soon.
Say 'hi' to Brian and Cindy for me, ok? G'nite!

  Camping is fun.
Gather a few of your classmates and organise your own feild trip. Who knows, maybe you could even get extra credit.
