I haven't read a russian novel yet.
Would you believe, in a mad burst of optimism and motivation, I once read Les Miserables in FRENCH?

I had to read Crime and Punishment in high school. Though it's very long, I remember enjoying it much more than I thought I would. Raises some interesting ethical/moral questions.

Crime and Punishment is a fabulous book. I recommend reading it in chunks at a time to really appreciate it. It isn't a book you can just read a couple of pages then pick it up again a few days later and follow easily.

I've just been reading a bit of Tolstoy's War and Peace but couldn't really get into it. Admittedly I was trying to read 3 other books at the same time which doesn't help. My bedside table is piled with half-read books.

I usually have to read a book in one sitting or else I never finish it. I've tried the piecemeal method, but it just results in half-finished books. I don't always finish it in one sitting, but 2 or 3 at most.

This is my first Russian novel.

I gotta give Dostoevsky props, but I personally can't stand reading Russian novels. They aren't ADD-friendly.

I haven't read Cat's Cradle, but I've read other stuff by Vonnegut & Vonnegut Jr. Brilliant authors.
