Happy birthday to me! - Are we not men?
Happy birthday to me!
This morning I went to the bank, and they opened a little late so there was a bit of a queue. I was waiting for my transaction, and I hear a car honk behind me, and it was my sister! We had a little shouting between cars conversation, then we pulled into the bank parking lot and chatted awhile. So, that's a kindof good birthday start! They are going to hold my check until it clears, but I'm going to go over there later and convince them not to. I have enough money to shop a LITTLE today.

I didn't get my calendar yet. I was really hoping to at least catch a couple of days of January before having to flip to February. Maybe I'll disassemble it and use the January pic as a free-floating random pic. Next year I'm making my own calendar with my own art in it. Or maybe I'll make a "LJ Friends" calendar, with artwork from people on my friends list. That would be kinda cool. Being a ninja would be kinda cool, too.

So, if you haven't seen my latest LJ layout updates, take a look. See that pic of Manta saying "Friendship... is going to kick your butt!" That's a good pic for the Friends page, but I think I should change it for Recent and Entry pages. Anyone got any ideas what I could put in there?

Here's the fun question. What should I buy first? CDs? DVDs? Manga?

CDs: I really want aiko's first non-indie cd, "Chisana marui koujitsu", but I also really want her latest "Akatsuki no love letter". Import CDs are expensive.
DVDs: not much of a question, really. More "should I buy a DVD or something else?" because I know exactly what DVDs I need and in what order I plan to buy them.
Manga: Loads of choices here. I'm missing like 4 X/1999 manga, 1 SailorMoon, 2 Kenshin, a couple of Gundam Wing, I think... I should really get the G-Gundam series as well. Then there are new (to me) series, Ragnarok and Demon Diaries that I'm sorta keen on checking out. They're not by Japanese artists! But they look cool. And then there's the Dragonball manga that I want to get -- which won't be all of them, but just the ones I deem worthy. I'll end up buying whatever's on the shelf at B&N tonight.

I'm really sorta bored now. I should do work, huh.

Can you feel the love?

I just ordered like 4 aiko import CDs, in the hope that it'll cheer me up. I ordered Natsufuku the other day, but today I added Chiisana Marui Koujitsu and Aki Soba Ni Iru Yo and Akatsuki No Love Letter. It's not as if I don't have the money. In fact, I checked yesterday and I've got a lot more money than I thought I did. But if I don't keep thinking that I'm broke, I'll spend it all on stupid stuff like food. CDs and DVDs are way more important than food, since I can still live off cheap food, but you can't get good CDs and DVDs for $0.99.

See, I'm thinking I should order Chiisana Marui Koujitsu and Akatsuki no love letter, and then buy a couple more Bebop dvds. But, see, the B&N with a good manga selection is on my way home. So I might end up acquiring manga instead. Plus, my bank told me that they're keeping my check on hold until it clears from the other bank, which is really stupid but means I've only got $270 right now.

I've been eating Cup Noodle instead of the non-cupped kind of ramen. Non-cupped is cheaper, but then I have to dirty a dish just to prepare it. Plus it doesn't have little peas and stuff in it like cup noodle does. But it's slightly more expensive (3 for $1, rather than 6 for $1). I need to stop eating in the cafeteria at work, too. And the soap in the ladies' room is so drying that even with lotion my hands look like some kind of snake, all shiny and scaly.
What the hell am I talking about? I guess my point is yeah, cheap food is sufficient. But cheap DVDs are nonexistant. Plus, Bebop is as necessary for life as food is.

Woo, happy birthday

Last Saturday I ordered FLCL volumes 2 and 3, Last Exile volume 1 and Weird Al Yankovic: The Ultimate Video Collection or something like that from Amazon.com, and Excel Saga volume 4 amongst other things from Amazon.co.uk.

It's quite strange, and generally insane (and has a lot of references to stuff that's often Japanese, so you get the option of these Pop Up Video-style popups telling you what's going on), I quite like it. It's about Excel, who works for this secret organisation who are trying to take over the world since it's a filthy horrible place or somesuch, and they feel they can make it better.

Nothing ends in y except days of the week and adverbs! I better make up new words.
